YOO HOO……MOTHERS’ GUILD is looking for you! We have a few committees in need of chairs. Most of these are perfect for that working mom who is feeling short changed because she isn’t able to get as involved as she would like. Below please find the open committee chair positions and their descriptions. Maybe something is calling you…..
E-mail Marta at mlmcaulfield@gmail.com to sign up or get more information!
WELCOMING – in the fall, we pick up the phone and give every new family a call to check in and make sure they are getting the hang of things. 30 moms mean about 10 phone calls. Is there more? nope that’s it … just a howdy do will do!
SCRIP- I know, I know, you are thinking it’s sooooo much work …. but scrip at Xavier isn’t your elementary experience. We have it down to a science and a little time can go a long way AND the reward is great. All profits go to The Scholarship Fund.
XCP/BCP LIAISON- Want to be the first to know what’s happening at Brophy, then this is the job for you. 2 meetings a month! Act as Xavier’s representation at the Brophy monthly Meetings and report back to us at our meetings the Brophy news we need to know. DO NOT NEED TO HAVE A SON TO APPLY!
VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR- Alright, I’ll be honest, this one does sound like a lot of work BUT honestly it’s not so bad. If you like matching games, this is perfect for you. Match the volunteer to the chair. When someone gives you a call, pass it on… Also, if you are one of those crazy organized people, you will actually get a little thrill out of this job!
BACCALAUREATE RECEPTION- It’s all about the cookies and the water. That’s it! A table, some cookies, and water. Oh and a box of Kleenex! I have heard there are tears.
PROJECT GRADUATION- Ever wonder what those kids do after graduation? NOT ANYMORE! They are safe and having the “practically all-night” time of their lives. It’s a team effort with Brophy, and the most fun you will have all year! 500+ kids celebrating the last 4 years can’t be anything but FUN!
TEACHER APPRECIATION LUNCHEON- This is near and dear to our hearts. There is nothing greater then saying thank you to our incredible teachers who give so many gifts to our girls every day. If you channel Martha Stewart, then this is the job for you.
PHANTOM TEA- no parties, no sign-ups, no dates, OH MY! If you can lick or stuff an envelope, you are good to go! Also, it is the most profitable non event we run. Alice would be proud.
The Mothers’ Guild is in the process of putting together next year’s committees and chairs. Our aim is to build a strong community through volunteering. Do not underestimate your value to our school. We have so many ways to get involved: long-term and short-term opportunities abound. There is a spot for every mom who would like to join in the volunteering fun. I promise you will meet amazing women and really feel a connection to your daughter. I believe in the spirit of sharing and I believe we are what we are because of those around us. When a Mom volunteers she shows her daughter this simple act makes a difference.
If you have just a little time or you have nothing but time, come hang out with us and be in the know. We really cannot do this without you. I look forward to working with each and every one of you. As a volunteer in the Gear XChange these past 3 years, I may have already met you. I know I have met your daughters, and if you are any reflection of the young women you have raised, we are a lucky Mothers’ Guild indeed. Thank you and don’t be shy, just give me a call at (208) 440-5320 or e-mail me at mlmcaulfield@gmail.com.
Sincerely,
Marta Caulfield
(Your Mothers’ Guild President and mom to Claire ’13)

Sarah Nickerson, like any other working mom, is busy trying to have it all. One morning while racing to work and distracted by her cell phone, she looks away from the road for one second too long. In that blink of an eye, all the rapidly moving parts of her over-scheduled life come to a screeching halt.
